DIY'er question:

I have a singe switched fused spur above my kitchen counter, providing power to an undercounter fridge socket beneath it. The boss lady wants a socket installed there to move the toaster away from where it currently sits, because 'lady reasons'..

Is there any way I can swap that switched fused spur faceplate for something that will add a 13A socket as well as retaining the switch for the fridge below? It's a single gang unit, and ideally, I'd not want to dig out the wall for a double box if avoidable as it's not long decorated.

Any advice appreciated, thank you.

It depends on where that SFU 'sits' in the circuit. If it's there as a courtesy isolator for the fridge socket then potentially yes as it could be a primary outlet, in which case you're allowed one spur (which would be the fridge). Or it might already be the 'drain' on another spur in which case no, as Westward said. If you lift it off the wall (having isolated the power!) take a look and see if there's one or two sets of cables feeding it (as well as the separate outlet for the undercounter socket) - if there's two then it's probably a primary outlet so can be swapped to a single gang socket.
