I presently have a shaver point in my bathroom. The cabling runs in a small square clip on front type trunking. This was chased into the render and tilled over.

I am replacing the existing bath with a shower enclosure. In order to do this the wall that the point is on is being studded out by 25mm and plasterboarded. My questions ask if this is permissible. I mean without notification.

1. Am I permitted to disconnect the shaver socket and reconnect onto the face of the new board.

2. I don't intend to change the socket as there is a cupboard unit in which it will fall so a new flash one is not needed. But, as it is quite old, if I decided to replace the socket with a new simple 230V would this be permitted.

3. Do they do twin 230V sockets or are these not available.

4. A slight aside regarding zones. The 2005 zone diagram showed a wash basin. The new one doesn't ? The shaver point will be 450mm horizontally from the edge of the semi-recessed wash basin and 150mm below in the back of an adjacent unit - one of a set of units with a counter top that the basin sits in. This arrangement suits me as I don't want wires from electric toothbrush everywhere. I can fit a new plug to the toothbrush charger and pass the shortened cable into unit.

NOT SURE WHAT YOUR QUESTION IS.??

Thanks for the response DurhamSparky.
The thing that I was trying to establish was are there any zones governed by the wash basin. There used to be an area of 6oo radius I think) shown for the splash Zone above the basin. Latest piccy I have seen does not show a basin. How is this zone defined now.

Presumably although I am only 450 form basin and below it in a cupboard I see no problem.

I have seen no double points either, I thought that they may not have been permitted?

Thanks again EasT
