Afternoon all

Been asked to connect up cooker and Hob. Guy only has one 32amp cooker supply in 6mm. Has isolation point and connection point at low level

Spec for cooker is 2.4KW but has 13 amp plug fitted. So from that i read it as this cannot be connected up to 6mm connection point and has to have fused spur taken of kitchen supply and low level socket provided.
Hob is 16 amp and says requires hardwiring to dedicated circuit. Why would this be the case wouldn't it be adequate again to spur of kitchen supply and provide a connection point for this? Any advice appreciated

Cheers. Combined though they overrate the 32 amp breaker for cooker circuit don't they?. I Could spur out from low level connection point for cooker but where do I get my supply for hob. Sorry edit no this can't be case as only 16amp for hob although ratings for ring are 2.2kw 2kw 2kw and 2kw. I still can't see where I should fuse hob load though

Hi - the 16A hob doesn't need an additional fuse. If it was connected to the connection unit with a 3 core flex of 2.5mm (say) then the conductors can’t be overloaded and the cpc is the same size as the rest of the 6mm twin and earth radial circuit.

If I’ve understood correctly, the total load is 13+16=29A so that’s well ok too.

Hob and oven are fixed load,
You can take both off the existing cooker feed if you want.

Cheers guys really appreciated will make sure get 2.5 heat resistant flex so will have 2.5 c.p.c

fit a cooker outlet for the hob and a socket for the oven, both from the existing 6mm 32A circuit. use one of these.
