Customer created his own fixings

One of our customers - who found us on the forum, is very, very impatient! We're installing 2 field mounts for him on condition that he does the groundwork (that's his business) and prepares the framework in accordance with Schuco installation guide.


Stock, as you know has been tricky and we haven't been able to get everything at once and when the screws etc didn't arrive for the second field mount he decided to get his own. I've got them coming on Tuesday a mere 2 days late which I don't think is bad but should I insist that he replaces with the originals or just let him get on with it - given he's agreed to install as per the Schuco instructions.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm absolutely fed up with everything taking 3 times as long just because everyone is backed into a corner and cramming more work than is reasonable into a short space of time!

With out a doubt replace them , for several reasons -
1, I know you will no doubt shift them probably within days as things are at the moment but why should you have to get stuck with them because of his impatience.
2, What happens to the warranties if something goes wrong ?
3, What happens if you happen to have a inspection on this install , sods law and all that ! And they pick up on the screws.

You are already doing the bloke a favour letting him do what he is for himself , don't let him take the p--s with something that would only end up giving you grief if it eventually went wrong !
