EICR Certificates

Firstly sorry if this is going over old ground but I'm after concrete verification on if it is mandatory for us to fill out the Inspection Schedule for each distribution board on a Commercial/Industrial (>100A) EICR certificate? I'm only asking since I'm on the verge of throwing the netbook against the wall. The increase in time and paperwork due to this is ridiculous.

Now I know that IET have not created a specific >100A certificate yet, just the <100A one for domestic installations and a course instructor in recent weeks said that it is perfectly OK to use the domestic certificate for a Commercial/Industrial test and inspection. However yesterday I asked the Napit technical desk if this was the case. He said it wasn't and I had to create a Inspection Schedule for each individual DB. It's the Regs!

As usual the most basic information required in this industry is contradictory.

Incidentally I have recently purchased Napit's desktop software but would gladly knock it on the head and go back to the generic form if we are permitted to use it.

You can use the generic form, but it would be better to edit it, so that there is no mention of >100A or domestic.
As for the information supplied by the NAPIT technical desk, strange isn't it that their advise would entail you having to use their software (for a reasonable fee of course).

yeah, Isn't it just. So to clear that up we can defiantly use the generic certificate for a 100A> Industrial/Commercial installation and the dreaded 'DB Inspection Schedule' can be rightly ignored?

You can make it up as you go along, as long as what you make up is based on the model forms in appendix 6 of BS7671.
I don't know what the 'DB Inspection Schedule' is, I'm assuming it's a Napit thing?
There's no requirement in BS7671 to use any particular form when conducting EICRs on <100A supplies or commercial installations.

However, after all that's been said, if you are conducting EICRs under the aegis of NAPIT, then it is most likely that you have to comply with their rules.
If on the other hand, you are conducting EICRs outside of your NAPIT membership, then their rules can be binned.
