Our Triton Bezique II 9.5Kw electric shower has suddenly started working only at the low heat setting. It has 2 settings, high and low then you just adjust the flow with the dial. The dial is having to be set to the hottest setting (10) which just reduces the water flow so that is is barely warm. Before I go out and buy an exact replacement, are there any possible reasons for this that can be fixed by a bit of cleaning or something or will it be an element fault? The low pressure indicator doesn't come on and there isn't low pressure anyway, it pretty fierce if you have it full blast.

While I'm at it, does anyone know of another Triton with the exact same outer casing sizes? The one I have now replaced my Triton Opal II and was exactly the same shape and size which was handy for fitting. Only difference was the buttons and dials on the front. The Triton Bezique II is still available but this one has lasted little more than a year and is £130. Our guarantee and receipt has mysteriously disappeared and I can't remember if it was Argos or Homebase we got it from anyway. Think it was a 2 year guarantee though

There are several possible causes. The last one I saw was a faulty power level selector switch. I managed to get a replacement from a second hand faulty one off ebay. Needs an electrician to have a look at it (not a domestic installer).

Ahh :(. Thanks, I will just have to get a replacement, it's easier to just get the same one to avoid new holes in the wall etc.. even though it's quite pricey. I like to get them half price but when you need it there's not a lot you can do

Most tritons have the same fixings, cable entries and pipe connection, so you should be good to buy what you can get.
call triton and see what they say, they may offer some assistance as the shower isn't old, there should be date of manufacture marks inside

Hey stout lad sounds like an element failure....the variants of that unit are rapide 4+ and the latest aquatronic 4 ultra....check online for the best price....the reason I know this is I work for them (service engineer)

Good luck

Thanks all. The last time I was on here posting about a shower was the last time it went, I can't find how to get onto my old posts though. It doesn't seem that long ago but time flies. I have had to buy a new shower at £129.99 though it's still in the box. The reason it has to be the same fitting is because the shower screen is pretty close to the right hand side and a wider one may not fit in.

EDIT> I have found my old posts and it was around the end of Feb 2012 when the last shower went so it has only lasted about a year!!! As I said, I have no receipt or guarantee now :(

Ring up customer service and quote the date code on the bottom of the unit should look like 09/11 or 08/10 it denotes the month and year of manufacture as long as its less then two years we will come out we will come out and fix FOC.........if the stickers missing there is another inside.........

oh we can only service the unit when its on the wall cable /pipework connected up

stoutlad,

if it's only a year or so old you should have no problem getting it fixed, within warranty or not. Just quote the Sale of Goods Act at them and tell them it's clearly not of "reasonable" quality. I think the rules say you're looking at a 6+ year lifespan for a domestic appliance like a shower.

Ducksy,

Out of interest, how do those models work? Is it just a pair of elements with one working for the low power setting and both working for high power?

I think that's how it works.

Thanks but the new one was installed the same day. The problem with getting someone out via the warranty is that they wouldn't come out that day or the next day likely and the shower is required immediately. If this one doesn't last long then I won't be buying another Triton. Next time if I could get one for £50 in a sale that would fit in the space then I'd get it, the bottom line is hot water comes out, it doesn't matter if they are £50 or £250 hot water coming out of it is all you need

Hey stout good luck getting any appliance manufacturer out the same day especially for a warranty call out....your right about one thing tho the more money you spend the more parts to go wrong, Pcbs, thermistors, wireless RF boards ect. As opposed to a good old fashion micro switch. ON/OFF

Remember the old redring 7, I've removed them after 30 trouble free years of loyal service, that won't happen to any modern shower, especially not a Triton, even tho they are my personal choice

We had a Redring once and it was our longest lasting shower but I replaced it with another Redring which didn't last very long. Apart from that first Redring, the longest we have had a shower last has been 4 years. It depends how many times it gets used of course, the more people in your house the more use it gets
