Hiya guys

i carried out an EICR yesterday all the tests were fine, tns system but when I got to the rcd test it failed on the X1 and x5 test saying >300 and >40, so I put a new rcd module in and it failed again, it's an mk sentry board, any ideas before I just change the whole board ??? Also I'm using a kewtech kt63 meter

At what point in the installation are you applying the test to the RCD?

Really you should just be checking the RCD operation, not the whole circuit.

Try it at the board itself. I woulddisconnect the ring from it and try then on the load side. You may find that there is something plugged in, or a spur or something that is causing the issue

Great thanks il do that, anything so that I don't have to change the board, thanks again for the help il let u know how it goes

Can't think why you would want to change the CU when it is the RCD that is suspect, did or have you got anything plugged in to your RFC as asked in post 4

As Above you should only test an RCD or RCBO with the load removed Due to small earth leakage of appliances coursing your meter to give you false readings , I have found in the past that fridges are a common course for this.
