Hi, following the success of my last post.

I now wish to layout a drawing of my garage prior to wiring it.

I have a 5 way consumer unit fed by 6mm swa. The cu has a 63amp 30ma rcd.

My plan is to-

1.- A 1mm2 T+E lighting circuit, incorporating 4 x 5' twin flourescent fittings + 1 x4' single flourescent fitting, all on a 6amp MCB
2.- A 2.5mm2 T+E Radial circuit with 6 double sockets on it, on a 16amp MCB
3.- Security lighting flood lights seperate circuit to lighting circuit on a 6amp MCB
4.- A Garden feed in the form of a 6mm SWA (already in underground) to decking to run 2 double sockets, on a 16amp MCB (one of the sockets will run a small swimming pool heater)
5.- A spare way

Is there anything garingly obvious about this design that will be incorrect to regulations Ie is the 1mm2 T+E adequate?.

My theory is to split up the circuits to keep it simple.

I wont be using the garage for anything industrial size ie an oil welder, it is just used for hobby work. The existing 1 double socket in the garage is presently run of a fused spur and i have never blown the fuse.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You need to do your cable calcs to be sure the 1mm cable is adequate. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be though. Your job description sounds good!

What is this swimming pool heater and what is the swimming pool

Hi it's a large double, but with all of the racking and shelving i have for storage i wanted to light up really well to all the edges. I always get really frustrated when you get all the shadows when you are working.

I will be switching the lighting seperately also so i can light up just an area ie around the work bench etc.

Hi the pool is a 10' round put me up, i will have to check the heater wattage i'm not sure. It isnt anything special thought just one you can get with all of these types of pools.

You'll be very lucky to get 2 X 6mm cables into the accessory terminals without cutting strands out, which basically defeats the object of running in a 6mm cable..lol!!!

Unless the OP is in Scotland or any other country where LABC notification doesn't apply?
