It could be that the left hand screw is over tightened .. very slightly.

One of my school mates mum had a knick name of socket for reasons at the time I didn't understand, his knick name was plug.

I do prefer the 45 degree but both pointing the same way.

they are useful the only problem is most dont let you do ir even though they state in instructions they will pass ir tests.

Never had a problem with them just skip IR on line/neutral.

yes the ir live to neutral will fail, how do you get readings for ir live to neutral, i use wago to bypass ?

I remember about 10 years ago fitting a load of MK gold plated sockets and switches, they looked really good. I don't think MK make them any more. IIRC the twin sockets were about £38 each...

As to testing USB sockets, It would be nice if the manufacturers put a small switch on them to enable them to be disconnected, something like the slotted screw type switch fitted to the old MK door bell transformers would work well, turning the screw 90 degrees switched off the supply.
