We have this thread on TilersForums.com and it's just been restarted because the old thread had 20,000 replies and 500,000 views. And there were 700 pages. Started to lag a bit on slow connections.

I think we had a bash of this before, but I can't find the thread, so thought I'd start another one off.

If you have time in the mornings, come post in the thread before you head off to work, let us know what you've got on and what the weather is like in your area etc. Anything at all is fine. :)

Posts and likes get counted towards your total stats in this thread.

So GOOOD MORNING PEOPLE - WEATHER IS NICE TODAY IN STOKE. I'M THANKFUL IT'S FRIDAY, HAD A RUBBISH WEEK. THANK GOD IT'S OVER.

you did not!

the lego one? or did you win a wago?

Gloating got me a long way. I responded to their email and then nothing ever arrived. Sent a direct message to Wago UK and subsequently contacted their marketing team as per response to that message, but never received a reply.

Always leaves a bad taste in my mouth when a company decides to promote themselves and then fails to deliver on promises - especially when it's a company whose products you'd always been very happy with. Maybe this lego thing will turn up in the fullness of time, but I won't hold my breath. Shame they have the connector market so well sown up that I can't mount an imperceptible one man protest 😂

one man?

You’ve got the entire ElectriciansForums behind you!

It's 10.40 and I've already been to our stores, set up the DGA analyser, driven to Avonmouth and back and I'm about to analyse some oil samples. I thought Sundays are supposed to be quiet days off

So did I @Moley!
So far this morning I have been and retrieved my PC after it died on me on Friday and has now been fixed.
Started putting all the programs back on it.
Realised that all my Easycert certificates from the last 5 years are gone apart from the PDF copies 🤦‍♂️
I hate technology when it doesn't work!!

I feel your pain. I've lost important stuff in the past. Now I try to back things up either on the works networked drive or my own network drive. If its really important it goes on both.

Morning all. Sad day but have to move on from it hey!

Well done to the England team for getting so far, and also scoring a goal as that sometimes doesn't even happen.

I'm currently on my way from Wales to Kent. Got to take oil samples from 2 transformers then up to Bedford area for the night.

What do you do with the samples then mate? Do they need to be tested for something I assume? If so, what you looking for in it?

You've got a fair few miles on your van I bet?!

Off to the gym shortly, then to my nearby Amazon Locker and then back to Loch Lomond to renew my boat registration (late, as usual!).
In the afternoon it's a trip to the Men's Shed.

Yesterday was a good day for Spanish sports fans. I enjoyed watching Alcaraz demolish Djokovic, but the football was a bit disappointing. I am a fan of most thgings Spanish, but even though I'm Scottish I still cheer for England when they are playing anyone not Scottish...unlike many who still think it's normal to cheer for whoever is playing England.

Have a good week everyone!

Eyup pirate!

What boat you got again mate?

I usually aren't much for football myself but tend to get behind England when they're playing but would cheer any UK country (still doesn't feel right saying "a UK Country").

My grandparents were Welsh and when I did a family tree a bit ago I managed to hook up my tree to somebody who knows what they're doing just by pure chance of him being a distant relative, and going back generations the family seemed to go from south Wales to West Midlands and back again every other generation.

So I now have a bit of a nice connection to Wales that's not just thrashing downhill bikes around the valleys.

I'd cheer them all day long, but would Scotland or N.ireland (even republic in fact) if they get further than England.

Depends on what the power station want. If it's just DGA (Dissolved Gas Analysis) and moisture content then I can do that. If it's more in depth analysis then the samples go to a lab. If a transformer develops a fault the oil will start to break down and produce gases. By measuring the gasses you can get a good idea of what, if anything, is going on inside the transformer.
The van mileage is really high now, 555 miles 😀 It won't stay low for long.

Christ mate you're not just a pretty face eh?! Do you have some chemist quals or is it just learned experience then?

When did you get your van and what did you go for?

I'm not even a pretty face 🤣
Most was on the job training from the guy I took over from. Been doing it for around 15 years now so I must be doing something right🥴
I've got the new shape Tansit Connect. Only picked it up last week. Not a big lover of it so far.

Morning everybody.

@Moley does it have driving aids like lane assist etc? Wondering how advanced they are.

Do us a pic of the dash mate? ha

Used to get gravy all over mine from chips peas and gravy dinners.

It was the fault of the buttered bap and me dipping in gravy. Dribbled all over steering wheel it stopped the horn from papping for about 6 months.

Do northerners have gravy with everything? I've got a sick vision of a bowl of cornflakes swimming in gravy
Anyway, little photo of the basic setup. No buttons anymore, all touch screen. Only 1 stalk too.

I have never understood Chips with Gravy, most chip shops served limp fat undercooked and unappetising chips anyway without putting gravy on them and then have the audacity to advertise their chips are hand cut? I don't care if they are cut by a chimpanzee as long as they are crisp and not a soggy limp mess.

What's the yellow thing looking out the window?

You know, @Moley that ive got a Jess The Cat in my VW Transporter, which was a gift from my girls as my first van was a red Berlingo, and they thought it was Postman Pat's.

Anyway... they take the buttons off the radio, and place them on the steering wheel.... Cant understand that one.
Old vehicles... you knew the feel of the radio... you could adjust the volume, change channel... insert a tape (or CD) all without taking your eyes off the road... Now its just a flat smooth screen.... how you supposed to touch the right part?

Actually.... is that 2 sat navs? You must get lost an awful lot of times

Agree, have a look at any touch screen phone after a years site use and its scratched to bits and you can't see what you are touching, and don't spill your gravy on it. 😇
