Hi folks, I have been out to quote for a soffit lighting job. I have done jobs like this many times but usually only installing lights in the top soffit and has always been easy enough to get cables into the loft. This customer would also like lights in her lower soffit. I have a few ideas on ways to this but just wanted to see if anyone else had some ideas on getting cable from the lower soffit to the higher soffit. Note I am going to be putting all the lights on a photocell.

I have seen quite a few sparks cable tie a black flex to a drain pipe to get from one level to the next.

I prefer to install a black PVC conduit ( or white if the house has render) and put the conduit in the most discreet place possible.

Thanks for the reply, yeah thats what I had in mind, there is a drain pipe which would do a pretty good job of covering the conduit drop, cheers!

Good idea removing the pipe

I see round here though they've used steel nails for everything from fixing downpipes to radiators which doesn't help

There was a time when steel nail guns were all the rage . I think that was a good while back.

Disaster idea .
