Evening - I went to turn on the megger today and was instantly met with a battery flashing symbol and it turned off. So I replaced the batteries with 1.5V Alkaline batteries that were new and the same thing happened! Before I loose it for a week to get repaired has anyone else experienced this?

You could ring Megger technical, found them quite helpful. Whilst it still might need fixing they might be able to diagnose.

Guy called Ian Bedsted, or something like that, is their top guru.

The Megger is not the rechargeable one, is it? as if you change the rechargeable batteries for standard ones you have to get it recalibrated.

in Somerset, a megger needs recharging with scrumpy. you just dip the leads in a pint for a few minutes. the Megger goes "hic", then you can drink the rest.
