Hi Everyone
can the meter tails be buried in the wall and if so do they need to be protected by a RCD or not. The consumer unit has 30ma RCBO's . Can we put 100ma RCD as a Isolator. we were thinking of putting a type C RCD to protect the tails.
thank you

If buried in the wall in a safe zone without protection against penetration by nails etc or an earthed metallic armour then 30mA RCD is required.
But you cannot have the whole installation protected by one 30mA RCD.
Personally I fit a thick steel plate over tails if I have to bury them in the wall, something around 1/8" thick usually.

What is a type C RCD? I have only come across A AC and B with S variants

Depends on what the meter "tails" are made of!

2 x 25mm tails and a 16mm earth will just about squeeze through straight piece of 25mm galv pipe if not too long. 32mm would be better.
