Hi there!

I just replaced my kitchen light with the following and all was fine:

Wickes Kazbah 4 Bar Spotlight - 4 x 50W | Wickes.co.uk - https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Kazbah-4-Bar-Spotlight---4-x-50W/p/195430

Then I added this dimmer switch to dim the lights above:

Wickes Dimmer Switch 1 Gang 2 Way 400W Slimline White | Wickes.co.uk - https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Dimmer-Switch-1-Gang-2-Way-400W-Slimline-White/p/711324

Now I have noticed that a light in another room has begun flickering. I think all were done as should have been.

One thing to notice. The light switch I replaced was a double switch - one of the switches did nothing. I replaced with the single dimmer switch above and only wired in the necessary light. For the other light, I cut the cables and sealed up the ends with a fair bit of insulating tape.

Have I matched the wrong light and switch on my circuit, causing the flickering in the light in the other room? Or should I have done something else with the other switch cables?

I've never personally come across it on a different switching set of lights but I've heard of interference down the neutral could cause this problem but not sure. Change the dimmer to a switch to check if it is the dimmer causing it.

Hi all. I now turned it on this morning and after a while the bulb (in the other room to the dimmer switch) just turned off.

It is the dimmer switch because it wasn't happening with a normal switch before I put the dimmer on.

What lamp is in the other light fitting?

This is the bulb that is flickering:

Picture coming.

Like I said, I've not personally had it but I've heard/read about interference down the neutral due to dimmed lighting causing interference. I've only ever had it on the same switch lighting set of lights not on differing rooms etc. Anyone know further to this?

I would be looking first towards a loose connection. Does it flicker when the other light is switched off?

Not trying to teach granny to suck eggs, but are you sure you didn't connect the feed loop (to the other room) to the switch wire in the kitchen.
