Over the summer we had some single phase workshop gear removed, and in it's place was delivered a second-hand 3-phase lathe. At first I was going to drop in a new circuit, as naturally, the single-phase circuit that exists is useless. However, this new lathe is going right next to another lathe we have that is fed off a C16 MCB. This circuit terminates in a MEM Exel 20A switch disconnector, which the current lathe ties in to.

The current lathe is 5.1A and the new lathe is around a couple amps from memory - can anyone see an issue with dropping the new lathe in to the same switch disconnector (except that to isolate one for maintenance means to isolate them both - not an issue)?

Thanks,

Thanks,
why not add a 2nd isolator on the same circuit., parallel with exsting iso.?

Was common practice in the 70s and 80s to parallel two or three machines to one circuit, rarely see it now but I don't see a problem.
