Well, when I was signing up I felt like a bit of a fraud because I am not a working Sparky, but then I got to the part about qualifications and actually felt a little better because I took and passed my 16th Edition (yes I know, I was younger then too!) and I am C&G part III qualified electronics engineer, so I suppose I could have a go at electrocuting myself with both AC and DC!!! 
)
Anyhow, the reason I signed up - Electricity is not getting any cheaper so I am considering a Photovoltaic panel for my "garden shed" and the second reason is I had plod around again on another (business) matter and this time the copper (who is actually quite a decent sort) said it really was time I got the whole place alarmed. I did point out the crazed mutt but quite properly he said that the dog sleeps in the house and the outbuildings are the problem.
