Currently working self employed for different companies through agencies. I would like to go solo in the long run and would like help and information on what i would need to aquire to do this in the right way. My back round is commercial and offshore but i feel i have the ability to adapt to any electrical role. I am looking for information in terms of what extra qualifications i would need to gain for testing to sign off work and what i can actually do with out this. Any infoemation or guidance would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance stephen

Stephen there is a few schemes for "self-certifiers"
  • ELECSA
  • NAPIT Certification Ltd.
  • Certsure
  • STROMA
  • BESCA
  • Benchmark Certification
  • OFTEC

try to find their website and just call , they will explain You everything

You are best looking to do the C&G 2394 & 5 inspection & testing quals if you don't already have these.
You also have SELECT in Scotland as a "scheme" option.
If you can, concentrate on industrial and commercial, the domestic market is hard work for comparatively poor reward.
