Just ripping apart our ensuite was thinking about putting a new shower in. The shower that is in now runs of the upstairs lighting ciruit and has a switched fuse on the outside of the ensuite is this right???

I though showers were meant to have their own breaker.... I know the switched fuse would be offering protection but what rating shower would I be able put in going pull the old one off today have a look what cable is feeding it and weather it states a rating inside as it is not on outside of the casing.... Thanks Craig

Sounds like a power shower pump more than a electric shower

took shower of lookis like it is wired in 2.5mm where does this leave me now not come across this before dont really want to wire new cable and put breaker in back to CU what sort of shower should I fit????

It is a power shower but at the moment it is coming of the upstairs lighting into a 3amp fused switch. Going leave it like that for now and put another power shower in as the wife may kill me if I make any more mess ripped all ensuite out and because tiles were a pain to take off took plaster board of as well.

Wife, what an amazing creature. I put an archway into the kitchen from dining room, and she came out with the classic phrase "Why do you need to make so much mess?"

my wife to be want me to rip up all the concrete path so we can run a waste pipe just because she wants the washing machine in a specific place in the kitchen.

ive got one of them, tho should be a rcd spur if no rcd on lighting circ as opposed to a standard switched spur,as per manufactures paperwork..

Depends where the pump is. mira, (I think ) do a remote pump which onto existing install would only require a spur. Pump and controls are in the loft and commands are sent from shower area to loft via SELV cable inside shower head rail. Nice and tidy!
