Hi guys I'm about to fit a six inch kitchen fan, the wall is constructed of engineering brick the mortar holding the wall together is very old and crumbling any tips about doing this job without brining the wall down ??
Crest a hole? I’m sure I meant cut, or maybe even core, a hole. Damn autocarrot!!!
I just wondered why, in what I’m assuming to be a domestic job, there needs to be a 6” extractor fan?
I would suggest fella you use a diamond cutter and do not use the hammer action on the drill, then use a 6" piece of drain pipe through the wall and cement around it.
In my neck of the woods 6 inch has always been the usual size for a kitchen fan
Get a oversized piece of chipboard with a 6inch hole, drill it to the wall then stitch drill the wall and chisel it out, remove wood and fit ducting, patching the very small bits that may need patching
