Hi all,

Ive just bought a box of 50 double skt outlets to BS1363, manafactured by GET England, but they have only one terminal for the CPC.

The on-site guide (page 67) states "socket outlets must have two terminals for protective conductors. One terminal to be used for each protective conductor, of a minimum size of 1.5mm2.)

Im confused, the sockets have a BS number 1363 but only one terminal, how can these sockets comply, and if they dont why is my wholesaler selling them?

any ideas?

Answer: Regulation 543.7. The above is for High integ earthing for eqipment having high protective concuctor current.

So my box of 50 skts will be ok for normal domestic use?

fine. the 2 terminals are only required for high integrity earthing. e.g. when nused with IT equipment having high leakage currents

2 x 1.5mm will fit in one terminal even 3
