Hi all
Can anyone clarify why some manufactures (of static caravans) use FP200 for their wiring while others use T+E. Also if I have to install extra Sockets, Heaters, Lights, etc. should I use FP or T+E.

only worked in the caravan industry for 8 years so may be wrong but ive never come across a static being wired in fp.
we did go through a phase of using a cable very similar to fp due to zoning issues.
just wire any extras in t+e

Just go with the T&E.

I have found some more recent statics wired with modular harnesses especially on the lighting circuits using stranded cable.

:) Ok thanks for the input guys, I’m not 100% sure it is FP cable as I’ve not done any work on these vans yet but the cables used looked to be round 2 core and earth with a aluminium screen and black, blue or orange outer sheath. So I was wondering if there is a regulation that specifies using this type of cable.

That kind of screened cable is often used in caravans, apparently something to do with negating the electromagnetic field produced by a cable, which is more noticeable in a confined space such as a caravan.
BK Bluebird (caravan maker) used to use it.
