The wife is requesting LED lights under the bed, its all wired in to the light switch by the door as she did not want a remote control, I was just wondering what people thought about switching a transformer this way ( chopping of the plug or swapping for a round pin one ) or using an LED driver. The lights I am getting are the 5mte LED strip ones that will fix on the underside of the bed. Thanks in advance for your comments.

If you must have LEDs under the bed and are using a suitable LED driver then switching them from the wall is OK, the problem is that the bed may move and your fixed electrical connection must be suitable for movement.

Thanks for the reply, I've already said that to her and am fixing the frame to the floor with unistrut L brackets on the inside.
But you think driver would be best for switching.

The wife is requesting LED lights under the bed...........

Are you going to fit some hydraulics as well? Get bouncing! :smilielol5:

If it was me putting led lights under the bed (they would compliment my mirrored ceiling and tigerskin carpeted walls come to think of it) I would probably just get a plug in set and operate it with the switch on the bedside socket.

Well, I now think I've heard everything.
LED under bed lighting with unistrut, the mind boggles but let's not take it any further. There are some pictures that I just don't need to see.

Is this a wind up unistrut to fix a bed down? try these sound to light led strips should make it interesting.
Your wife seems very demanding in the bedroom and wants a switch? Why not just feed from the switch to a 5a 3pin socket MK K771WHI 1 Gang 5A Round Pin Socket Moulded White (MK Logic Plus) | K771WHI | MK | Sparks Direct near the bed and plug in the driver from there using a 3 pin plug (like they did for lamps before the advent of remote control) then the bed can be left as it is.

Ha ha didn't think this through before asking this did I, uni feet for the bed is a great idea I think, my tiger skin is on the ceiling and she's very demanding, in general tho will look into the hydraulics for a future project
