Hello compadre's - am I correct in understanding that the IET Code Of Practice only requires the test button and trip time of RCD adapters to be tested and that an insulation resistance test and polarity check are not required (the trip time effectively being an earth continuity test)? What is "best practice" in this regard? Many thanks.

your insulation and polarity tests are only require up to the socket. you would just do an RCD test on your plug-in RCD. ( xi, x5, and test button )
