Well after a couple years of bouncing around, project management,electrical manager, sole trader etc.

I went and picked up employment a few months ago got a fix with British gas. Must admit going down this route I had mixed feelings/experiences with them over the yrs.

Its not as bad as it seems, actually they seemed to have tightened up on the horror stories and sorted some chancers/deadwood out.

Up to now enjoying bit of cards in work again, certainly gets me out and about in the real world of consumer units again lol, and some of the horrible systems i have had the pleasure of trying to work on also. Starting to speed up on fault finding again hahaha.

I went into employment for the first time 3 years ago, was due to a couple of things, scratching around a bit with a kid on the way, and wanting to spend more time at home with her when she was born. You certainly lose out a lot in the money side of things, and life is a lot easier, but, if anything happens that puts you out of work, you have very little worry. Also the private work you do can push the money back up to a nice level.

Between last October and June just gone, I was crashed into 3 times while driving the work van, twice from behind. In the last 6 weeks, I've done 10 days work, and am off for at least the next 3 weeks. Currently awaiting a diagnosis but it's looking like trapped/pinched nerves in my back.
