Here's some from a job I looked at the other day.

I could get my fat digit in there, although I didn't try as didn't fancy touching the busbar!

300mm rule? I measured it and it was 275mm.

That cable is touching the hot water pipe to help keep it warm in winter......

Fortunately the client hadn't long since moved in, had no idea about electrics but knew a few things were wrong. So asked me to come and quote for some work and to rectify anything that was wrong. So this will all get sorted in the near future.

Had the same thing recently on some outside lighting supplies. Baffles me, so much effort goes into that, when a metal adaptable box could be used .

nah, but got a golf club, butt end for flicking up the breaker, head end for pressing the test button on the RCD.

or using a 6 iron, whack the golf ball up onto the RCD test button. also checks the rigidity of the CU enclosure with all the misses.

Couple of recent jobs

2 bed 7 year old barn conversion wired by a "professional builders time served spark" every other light switch or lamp either had all the cpc's cut of or all but one, all switch's metal and obviously no fly lead.
took me 2 days to un pick the "work" and make the place safe, also the socket circuits were many and made no logical sense what so ever, so circuit 1 had 1 socket in the utility then 2 in a bedroom, the other 2 sockets in that bedroom came from a different circuit, 5 x neutrals in to a 3 way push connector apparently is a new standard?
