1960s install - wiring diagram of installation folded and placed next to Wylex 3036 - how great is that. Respect to the ‘real’ sparks - that would take me 2 days just to draw that diagram. We’ve got it easy! (Don’t tell @Pete999 that I said that)
Too late!!!

Post #1496, the picture of the new CU with a spirit level on top of it? Was that just to check I the one built into the CU worked properly?

Oh, I get it now.... OCD!!

And that’s why they call you @Dave OCD, by the way was the spirit level for us to see? Just asking! Nice job.

Haha no I'd just forgotten to take the little boat level off when my lad took the picture. :)

Well experience has told me that the little built in levels aren't that accurate, with that one dead central the board looked a bit p155ed. :D

Callout to smoke coming from floor box. Turned out it had filled with water to a level just below the front of the plates. No RCD so the water was heated electrode boiler style to the point it was boiling, the tile floor surrounding the box was incredibly hot and the network modules have gone a funny shape.

Alright, which of you jokers installed this?!

Spurred off a RFC. 8.5kW into 13A does not go (unless you turn it to "pretty cold", which is the setting it's been on for the past 6 months!).

Couldn't even screw the 90p surface patress onto the wall without shattering it...

Brill. Look at the grubby finger marks on the switch as well. Or was that you?

You think that was originally for an instantaneous water heater, 3kW max? Some clown has replaced with a shower.

Discovered during a recent EICR. Mr. Wetpants strikes again ....

he should have used a 100mm deep box.

he should have used a proper sparky.

Whats the red? sleeving on the cpc?

I cant really speak... I've done a couple showers where I did the water as well as the power.

he obviously had some red tape left over from the cable wrap.

had one where i'd installed the 6.0mm cable for the shower before wet-pants came. i clearly marked the studded wall where his wet works needed to come out, in order to align with the cable and pipe entrys. called next day to connect and he'd brought the pipe out 2 ft. lower, meaning that the shower unit would end up 1ft. above the bath rim. needless to say, i refused to pay his charge.

Plenty ventilation round that box, which is a good thing as probably there will be some heat generated from the dodgy slack terminals...
