I cant believe how cold it actually is I woke up this morning freezing cold looked on my phone and it was -10 I cant think of the last time it was this cold I went and put the heating on straight away haha and I have to go to college in this cold haha feel bad for the guys working in freezing cold houses that are still getting built which have no windows

Feel sorry all you want but that will probably be you in a few years time lol.... it'll give your gran time to knit you a wool hat :smartass2:

I personally don't mind the cold, but I do mind having to have the heating on all day for the wife and small boy. Not that I expect them to freeze....just hate those huge gas bills. Must get a wood burner.

More like get your coat on wifey and son..... why daddy are you taking us somewhere? NO! .... im off to work and im turning the heating off :icon6:

Did the weekly shop yesterday (Wednesday), couldn't get the heavy stuff in the trolly ie. milk, wine, beer, pop you get the idea. Went to same store this morning to get afore mentioned stuff and have to queue to get onto the carpark. Anyone would think it's "The Day After Tomorrow".

you mean you actually filled the trolley with other stuff with priority over the wine and beer? no wonder the trade's on it's knees. :speechless::banghead:

Its been said its the coldest winter in years and years.
Put your layers on! I feel it on my toes mostly, resulted in 2 pairs of thick socks at a time.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

You know its bad when you finish relamping a freezer that's -14c and when you go outside the cold hits you again!

-9 this morning for me, Vauxhall combo's are terrible when theres ice on the road, literally get stuck everywhere...been on a caravan site this morning, its closed - it was my perfect opportunity to act like a child again, was hand breaking every corner haha loved it, just hope no-one saw or my professionalism is out the window haha.

-6c when I started at 9am. Warmed up to a tropical 1c by 12.00. Which was crap because it meant I was laying in cold puddles rather than on top of ice grrr

Im Yorkshire and turn the heating off at bed time and open the bedroom window, i have to let the curtains warm up before i can open them ... too many soft buggers about MAN UP!!!!! lads :20:

It was actually warmer here today than it was yesterday - I didn't have to scrape the ice of my windscreen this morning, which was nice. Earlier in the week it was almost summery - sun shining, blue sky, calm water... I prefer working in the cold than the heat any day, but it's always nice to be able to work outside without a coat on.

It’s actually so cold outside now, I have seen a gangsta pull up his pants. :D

I have been waiting to get rid of ( Now two ) large muck heaps at home for about 3 months now , as it is bloody wet the ground will not travel !
I went out to start it today as the ground is now hard , but the mini digger that i use to load the spreader with had a frozen water pump and a frozen diesel pump , it took 2 hours with a blow torch ! ( Would of used the JCB Loadall but that was dead to the world )

Then both tracks were frozen solid , so i had a bit of fancy digger dancing to get in place .
I then went to empty the half a load of muck already in the spreader and found that was frozen solid and stuck to the bed of it , I only noticed this after i had bent the discharge mechanism .
So i thought i would use the Steam cleaner to defrost the muck in the spreader , only to find it was also frozen and now with a split pressure gauge !

I also in between this got the quad stuck in the muck heap and slipped while trying to get it out and chipped about 5 teeth .

I am mostly staying in the armchair next to the fire in the front room tomorrow now !!!!

I'm off to Egypt monday (work not play) for 4 weeks 1 back then another 4, I hear its 20 degrees there but I'm actually gutted that it might snow while I'm gone as I promised the kids a decent snowman if we get enough snow but that was before I got on this job

(I'm quite the amateur sculptor with the old white stuff couple of years ago did one on the front garden with the kids, one of the lads left a bucket next to it when we came back later there was £3.50 in change in it people had been stopping to have a look and saw the bucket and dropped some coins in)
