Hello

I've completed my level 2 2330 and currently doing my 2365 level 3.

My question is how hard is the 17th edition exam? I know it's open book but would I have enough knowledge (going by my courses so far) to be able to pass it? I'm thinking if putting in for the 3 day course in December so that it's done and dusted for when I've finished my level 3

Any feedback or thoughts would be great

Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you need the 2382 as you're currently being trained to the latest edition of the regulations.

No I'm pretty sure you still need them, my college lecturer wrote down the various paths to take after the 2365 and the 2382 was one of them along with PAT testing

I might be wrong? If annoying can confirm that would save me £350

You are being trained to the latest standards to the current regulations. You are not currently being trained on your ability and understanding of the regulations.

Funnily enough, if you were doing the 2357 then doing the 2382 would result in a couple of the 2357 units criteria being achieved. But it doesn't work the other way around due to the methods of assessment used.

Surely if you're trained to the 17th edition of the regulations you'd naturally be expected to have an understanding of them. After all, you are spending 2 or more years training to them.

Not allowed to do that anymore are you?

You can tab the pages, bend the pages over, and do pretty much anything else to the book that floats your boat, but you can't write in it or on the tabs or highlight text.

To be fair, some of the candidates i see, put far too many post its etc, and then they end up with more problems than they started with.

Even my training copy only has about 10 post its, so i I can go straight to things quickly. It also has all the parts and app.'s tabbed for the same reason, and to be fair that is more than enough for anyone. I use the thin plastic ones, cos my regs gets a lot of hammer with a course a month.

Cheers…………Howard

That's great thank you

I'll have a flick through and see what ones will be best for me to put a divider in

Quite simply,

nope.

The multi choice exam for the 17th Edition of BS7671 is so easy anyone with half a brain could pass it IMO. I had 97% when I took mine and finished the thing in 20 mins flat.

Cannot stress enough how important it is to be able to use the index section. If you are really stuck on a question, key words in the text can be located there. Also, being fairly fluent on part 2, 'Definitions' is vital when it comes to understanding what a particular question is asking for.

Lastly, lots of practice. Here are some links:
