Well I went with Elecsa and the Assessor made VERY sure I was up to the job, friendly and helpful but nonetheless I got asked plenty of questions and had to demonstrate a fair bit of testing on the job I took him to, however I also got complimented on my workmanship, which was nice. :smiley2:
 
Join NICEIC if you want to abide by their electrical regulations and be compelled to buy their publications.
If not join the ECA and abide by the IEE regulations the sensible choice IMHO.

Well I'm with the NICEIC and like you work to the IEE reg's, and I have never in 10 years been compelled to buy anything from them, let alone publications.
