For a synchronizing circuit breaker of some turbo generator, what should be the location of thr isolator? I mean should it be on generator side i.e. before circuit breaker or at the opposite side i.e. after circuit breaker? What I have observed so far is the Ist case i.e. on generator side but theoratically how it should be? please explain

Hi

The isolator is always positioned upstream of the CB. That way the sync system can be shut off entirely for that geney should a problem occur with that particular set.
