Holiday Entitlements

Does anyone know how to work out how many holidays I am entitled to?

Started with the company on 1st August 2011 and I have so far had 5 days holiday. I know that I cannot carry holidays from one year to next so I would like to know how many days i have left before the April cut-off. I work normal 5 day week

If I can remember its 2.5 days per month which includes all public holidays also. So for 8 months you would have 20 days.

Different companies have different accrual rates, so you need to ask your employer. I get loads, about 9 weeks, but i work in a college.

As said depends upon how many days a year you are entitled all you have to do is divide the number off holidays a year you get (not counting bank holidays) by 52 weeks.

From this number times it by the number of weeks you have worked for your employer.

Also check when the company holday entitlement runs from eg April to April but some companies run from January to December.
