evening everybody

i do work for this house which is converted to flats the main halls have 2 chandiler lights which are controlled by ceeling mounted PIRs each light has 5 lamps each

i changed all 10 lamps less than a month ago and 6 of them have already blown i didnt use cheap lamps either

was maybe thinking loose connections somewhere or has anybody else get any other sugestions

Heavy vibration from people clumping up and down the halls and shaking the chandelier?
Upper limit of supply voltage reducing lamp life, but six months is too short a life.
What is the history of earlier lamps in the fittings?
Change them for LED!

If they're blowing randomly and evenly across both chandeliers and if it's the same problem with filament lamps then maybe check the circuit voltage, both under and over voltage can cause lamp failure. Also maybe check the circuit for a poor connection or termination somewhere.

The same problem is present around my way. Check the voltage >245v AC is not ideal for energy saving lamps. As said change to LEDs as these reduce the voltage down to 24v DC and last for years (15 years normally)

if you need need help with LED lamps send me a private message

sorry for late reply there es fitting and yes they are energy fittings

they always do seem to blow quite quick thats with energy saving and normal lamps

If you have CFLs on PIRs, they'll be switching on and off frequently which shortens their life (as mentioned above). If you can't go for LED, then you'd be better off with ordinary GLS.

If normal lamps as well as CFL's are failing there's a fair possibility of a poor connection or termination or even a worn switch/PIR relay with arcing so I think it would be an unnecessary gamble to just fit LED's without checking the circuit first. I seen LED's fail very quickly when there was a burned neutral connection in the DB.
