Can anybody help me with defining the difference between the tripping factor (1.45) of a BS EN 60898 Type B MCB and its characteristics relating it tripping between 3 – 5 times the full load current?

Thanks
Steve

The rating factor is the amount of current to achieve effective disconnection, regardless of time taken to disconnect - known as I2, divided by the rating of the device.

Whilst 3 and 5 times are just multipliers of gas devices ratings.
