brief idea of set-up... bedroom extension atop attached garage. obviously needed planning permission. builder ( or whoever worked for him ) extended house ring final 2 S/O in new bedroom, 3 S/O in garage. wired in 1.5mm 3core with yellow used as cpc. actual cpc connected randomly to back boxes, no continuity or sleeving. ring continuity broken as it was bodge connected in RFC. stand alone RCD fed with a 13A plug top and T/E in plug to feed an outside S/O. how the hell did this pass BC inspection?

You know they have no interest in the electrical work
You know they dont have the technical knowledge for inspecting the work. even if they did. by some remote possibility, take any interest
You know it goes on
You know it will continue to go on

You could wire it all in bell wire, clip it all to the walls with masking tape, and incorporate any other kind of bodge going. As long as the Building Inspector gets his bit of paper he couldn't give a ----.
