I wouldn`t cement the backbox chase up....just foam it....and smokes/heats off a lighting circuit......

What happened to the good old trusted rawplugs and screws then??

Drywall adhesive sticks like **** to a blanket and just so happens holds backboxes firmly in place when required when you find nothing but a hollow.

we were discussing the of the perils of letting the customer doing the chasing himself and leaving a dirty great hole in the wall with nothing to fix a socket box too

Dont get me wrong eng....the foam`s a last resort "get out of jail" card if you cant get a fix....but of course rawlplugs n screws firstly mate....depends on how you sunk the boxes n all.....

yes and they seem to get more of it all over the floor and brickwork than where is should be....sick of getting that stuff on my clothes i am...lol.....

agree re: drywall adhesive great stuff, never used foam though.

I have used adhesive (as a last resort!!!) before, found some amazing stuff on the tinterweb , I think it's boat building glue in a pipe, that really is evil stuff, if you get that on your hand it isn't coming off this week. Its the gooey-est, stickiest stuff ever imaginable, you could stick bricks to the ceiling it's ace. AG Wood care is the web site.
