I'm changing 4 spotlights over to LED and the spotlight which has all the switch wiring in is the only one switching on/off at the switch.

I have identified the switched live but I am obviously missing something as the other 3 are permently on and will not be switched off at the switch.

Any guidance is much appreciated.

You have probably connected the S/L going on to the next fitting into the permanent live at the first light.

do I need to bridge the switched live to another cable as the wiring in the next light is 2 black cable & 2 red cable in the GU10 lamp holder?

I would be wrong to try and guide you as you are a trainee and obviously unsure of what to do, take Kenny's advice and get an Electrician in to rectify the problem, there is no shame in not knowing what to do, if you get a sparky in he/she would be willing to help you understand, well I would anyway.

I haven't got any test equipment on me at the moment but like I said I've identified the S/L as when I press the switch that spotlight is the only one switching on/off.

I am not a qualified spark yet but im also not a newbie, I just want some guidance in knowing what to do in this situation and to get it sorted.

You cannot do electrical work without some sort of test equipment.
That's like trying to do car maintenance without a spanner.

EDIT
and no point having test equipment if you do not know how to use it.
