Hi I'm in the uk. My dog has chewed the plug off our tv upstairs during the night.

The earth pin is plastic.

When I'm rewiring a new plug into it, am I okay to use a plug that had a metal earth pin but obviously don't attach anything to it?

Thanks..

No lol, mine was the latest , just before the advent of the plasma and led.
1000 hz if that is the correct terminology . Cracking tv to be honest .

Cheers guys I'm confident rewiring the plug and the fuse should be intact as she's just chewed through the wire and pulled the plug off.

Just wanted to make sure a normal metal 3 pin plug would be fine as the current one has a plastic earth pin.

Luckily I unplugged it before going to bed.
