ye gods, 8 sides of t & c's?

We managed to get ours to 1 side in order to avoid overloading customers.

On the other hand the quote can be 6-8 sides, plus performance calcs, particularly if we're offering more than one option.

I'm sure Finchy was pulled up on his Real visit because he'd simplified the t & C's to 1 or 2 pages and he was told that he should use the full t & C's. Personally I think that's counterproductive because the more there are the less likely the customer is to read them.

Our quotes are 12 pages including 2 pages for the quote, 2 pages of payback, introductory letter and the rest of the REAL stuff. We also include a data sheet for the panels and pvsol summaries and ocasionally when it's useful for a customer we'll send photos of installations with the different panel options, I've also been known to send over Photon reports to back up panel choice too. 90% of the time we email them within 24 hours and the other 10% is split between post and personal delivery. We give the customer the option of post or email and they all prefer email if they have access to the Internet.

Way too much info but we really push the personal side of the service and our customers contact us at any time of day or night with queries. The latest I've responded to an email was 11 at night, but we do have a high conversion rate.

Just no enquiries at the minute lol!

A high conversion rate suggests you must be doing something right so reason for optimism. I just rang a customer I visited last week to ask if she'd made a decision based on the quote I'd sent her: "Oh yeah, I'm not interested". I politely asked the reason and got a very blunt: "Because I'm not".

Lovely customers !

You notice them more when there's fewer of them about. We've just lost a job because they were desperate for solar and we could just about get them to a d rating with cavity wall insulation but he's looked cavity up onm the Internet and read a load of bad reviews and decided he'll wait until the government change their mind!!! He did bring me some whisky to say thanks - shame I don't drink!!
