round dry lining boxes have standard fixing holes, the same as pvc conduit boxes, so, anything that will go onto a conduit box will fit a circular drylining box

Hi Yes it's blowing a gale and the rain is the horizontal type, I had some outside lights to have a look at today, so I am helping to shift the furniture around the lounge instead, although I'd rather be in the pub

So I bought a round appleby dry wall box hoping that a stanard plate would fit, does it hell, now my thoughts on this are, I had to fit a switch for a washer spur but the splashback was a kind of particle board so I used a hole cutter on my drill and marked of the corners and ****ed about with a hacksaw blade cos I forgot my jigsaw and a light came on in my head wouldn't it be cool if a standard switch fitted a circular box
comments anyone

Apparently in some european countries round is standard ??, so why dont the likes of appleby get their fingers out their arses
typical UK attitude " Well I dont know we've always done it this way and if it's good enough for queen victoria it all right for us"
God save us from this cronic complacency,

screwfix do 34mm and 50.8mm ones
watch the fixing wings as some can be short dependant on manufacturer and the gap left when tight may leave box slack dependant on wall thickness
