I have just installed a new PIR security (LE) light for a client. The light is activating randomly day and night. It is set to night time (low light) with the sensitivity turned right down.
Having spoken to the client they suffer from frequent dimming of house lights (this is a remote house with TT supply). Assuming i don't have a faulty unit has any one seen anything like this? Could the supply flicker be activating the start up on feature? Could i fit a capacitor to smooth the supply.

Any help greatly appreciated...

Yes you could very well be experiencing this due to volt drop, it would behave exactly as it would if you fitted the PIR controlled by a switch, when you open the switch and then close it the PIR will test itself, by flashing on/off and set itself.

It seems like a sledge hammer to crack a walnut, but if they are getting brown outs, then the onlt way to prove it really is to fit a power monitor on the installation. It will be the only way you will prove to the DNO that there is a problem
