I know there have been a few threads on here mentioning agencies that have targeted people with work and then failed to pay up after the work has been completed.

Has anyone come across Trust In Blue?

It appears to be a general handyman company that is selling the services of retired police officers. The sentiment sounds good but when go on to the site, as a prospective handyman, they appear to take 30% commission on whatever the customer is charged. So (in my view) either the customer is being over charged or the handyman is being ripped off.

The website is also very fishy with no company address shown with the only linked address via Companies House appearing to to be a company registration address.

Needless to say on current information I won't be going near them. Doesn't sit right.

I know there are a few plod on here.

sounds like a scam.

Will be making a few enquiries me thinks!

In my opinion, anything which goes "nichy" or "specialised",on work which is and has always been, mainstream, usually turns out to be a target scam.
Targeting is all well and good, but good targets all end up the same - shot...

Agree. A trusted reliable tradesman from whatever background will always get work.

In their defence, I have used Trust in Blue for small jobs that electricians don't want to do- change a light bulb for an elderly lady etc. They have a good website and I didn't find the price any more than top end of average. I was very happy with the work. They don't do any electrical work that you would have to be qualified for either- very basic stuff only. They are genuine.

I am writing from TIB Services Ltd which operates the brand Trust in Blue Handymen. I have just stumbled upon this post and given the nature of our work I wanted to reassure any concerned readers that our company is completely bona fide. Our registered business address is clearly stated on the Terms listed on our website www.trustinblue.com/terms-and-conditions/ along with our company and VAT registration numbers.

Our rates vary by area and are all competitive with comparable local services. Clients are always given a written estimate/quote prior to works commencing.

For our handypeople and tradespeople who we are supplying a business function we charge between 9% and 30% dependent on the level of operative, duration of job and various other factors all of which are clearly communicated to people before they sign up to work with us. This covers many aspects including advertising, accreditation, administration, IT, invoicing and reviews.

Around half of our 92 operatives are qualified tradespeople (including 10 qualified electricians) and the other half more general skills handymen and women.

For further verification there are numerous press articles on our organisation, two of which I link here.
