Hes right mrloy 2 x 3 cores black and grey through the switch and brown in a connector block carried straight as many intermediates as you want until you get to the 2 way and the brown in the top (Common) the other 2 in the l1 l2 with the switch wires.
yes Kevin,I know all that, but if you have a look a the OP ,he was coming from an intermediate with ONE 3core,not two(I think the confusion lay in the OP's orrigional statement) of course however if he was coming from a 2way,he could convert this to an intermediate and make the new switch the 2way.

hi i arrived at a job with an intermediate lighting circuit, im having problems with wiring the circuit as the previous electrician ran the switch live to the intermediate switch where obviously the two three core cables are, the circuit has also 2 two way switches any help would be great thanks in advance..

the way its wired isnt really an issue (although slocm is correct in his method) the issue is the know it all and poor attitude by certain posters.

Hi no need for 3 core at all, you can wire it all in twin and earth doe's anyone want to know how?

use twin and earth between all switches as the strappers, connect a live feed to the common of one of the 2 way switches and connect your switch wire to the common of the other two way switch.

it isnt a problem , you can wire the switch wire in at any switch just connect the switch wire as you would with a 2 way.Doe's this help or have i read your question wrong

i did do that having trouble switching the other two way switches as in switching on/off the circuit??? thanks ill try it again tomorrow cant wait, i was in a rush that evening cheers for reply

make sure that all the switches have the same colour connductor in L1 and L2 ( strappers) and make sure that you havent put a cable from one three core on one side of the intermediate and one on the otherside of the intermediate.I know it might sound obvious but it's easy to do,ive done it.
