Blimey fresh out of a course, still wet behind the ears, never done a job before as changing his mums board will be his first and registering with a COMPETENT person scheme.

As long as he’s competent to sign a cheque he’ll be free to wreak havoc. After all he’s got this place to answer his questions when he’s stuck.

The NAPIT third party certifier scheme is up and running to sign off others work under Part P. I have just been offered to pay £50 and have it added to my membership. Has anyone else been offered this? Apparently only NAPIT and Stroma at the moment.

Eh? Who gets the £50? You or them?

Read your post.

That will be a money spinner both ways, like pulling a rabbit out of the hat

Why not go knocking on all your neighbours doors and ask them if they have heard of Part P, then search on the internet how many people have been prosecuted for failure to notify. I am almost certain you will find the answer to be in single figures.

You are so negative about our trade. Every post seems to be you moaning.

Any NAPIT members on here want to share the "rules and process" with us?

Without a doubt, part P is a licence for scheme providers to cash in, nothing more, nothing less.
As said its a cheaper option if you want to do things by the board for your customers if your covering a lot of notifiable work.
That's probably why the domestic market is such a sham nowadays.
More cowboys with so called registration and Electrical Trainee quals than I have ever seen in my entire working life.
Shame but true.

NICEIC and ELECSA have both refused this ATM and this is spot on IMO.

“We believe, in its current guise, the third party certification scheme will encourage non qualified people to cut costs by carrying out the work themselves.

I agree entirely, terrible for the sector. I am not sure why NAPIT and Stroma have agreed to do this, it does not make financial sense I wouldn't have thought. Fair enough they get another £50 from a member but they will lose overall registrations.

it will be the new pat testing and EICR's. firms popping up left right and centre specialising in 3rd party certification haha.

This is the loop hole for an easy entry:

Existing recognised qualified supervisors with a level 3 award or certificate in inspection and testing of electrical installations in dwellings or auditable evidence that reflects the learning outcomes in such an award or certificate.
