We visited Tyne Cot in Belgium this year, a WW1 Commonwealth War Grave. There are three recipients of the VC buried there.
We were shown the grave of Sergeant Lewis McGee, V.C. Apparently he captured a machine gun post, only armed with a pistol.
One of the memorials actually covers the original German concrete bunker.
Nearly 12000 Commonwealth sodiers are buried there, with over 90,000 remembered with no grave. True Knights.
