Hello
Im doing work for a customer who has a few sites they want me to cover. I told them traveling time is at full rate. When talking to someone on site they said I should charge mileage on top of this. What sort of rate do any of you guys and girls charge for this. One site is close to home, one is 90 miles and the other is 50.

Thanks

40 pence per mile plus your hourly rate on top.
I use Google maps time and distance for all travel invoices.
i charge £1/mile. that's 40p for vehicle cost and 60p for my time. averaging 40mph equates to £24/hour.

90 miles (180 round trip) is a significant journey and with fuel now about £1.50per litre your are looking at 40-45 ish quid on fuel.

I think using Tel's £1 per mile is about fair based on current fuel costs

It is further than I would usually travel. Not too sure if its going to be long term yet will see what the new year brings

I don't charge milage ontop of my hourly rate, I charge from when i leave home to when I get back, I try to string together jobs on a route if I've got to travel to them and can then charge the travel time on each job to gain a few quid.
