Yes they had that’s what greeted me when I pulled the shroud back. The other issue there was that I wish I’d pictured is the fact the shroud was cut to suit a cable 3 times it’s size

If the lid was to be placed 180 degrees, the pattern of the small bricks still doesn’t work.

There is no straight line of blocks up that edge like there is on the bottom

I'll trust your superior lego skills! I'm really struggling to tell with the camera angle.
Zooming in there are a couple of spots where 'grot' spans the edge and the cover but that could also be fake.
I saw it on a facebook group.

Kitchen RCD tripping problem. Besides various other problems like inaccessible sockets behind fitted units, some jerk has boxed in the CU....couldn't get the cover off.

.....and drilled through a ring final cable whilst boxing in pipework under the boiler.

thats pretty standard bodge up hiding joint boxes in walls back in the day.

When you come across some of the worst bodges you ever saw, and you're showing them to the client, and they're saying 'Dad would never have done that, he was an electrical engineer!'

All 21 of the cottages were wired by him over a 40 yr period, the sub mains is partly swa but mostly 16 mm T&e.

Years of work left for me.

I haven't yet tbh. I'll be calling them next week and will mention this to them too...

Are you sure they aren't attached? It looks like they have been bound to the top of the insulators with binding wire.

That's what I thought, but the pic resolution isn't good enough to be sure.

Perhaps, I wasn't aware of that practice. There appears to be something on the top section of the insulator but I couldn't be sure.
