Hi guys, sorry for asking a dumb --- question but I just started to test new builds after a 7 year absent. I always known Circuit Breakers in a domestic CCU as BS60898. But some one looking at my paper work today said that I was using the wrong number. I passed my 17th about a year ago a don't recall there being any change. Can some one clear this up for me?.

Did the person looking at your paperwork go to site to verify this, if you had done your inspection correctly your answer would have been "that was the BS number printed on the MCB"

That's what I thought, I'll ignore all the ---- posts on here. why do I need to look at a number when I all ready know it. My post was simply asking had there been a recent update to the regs changing these breaker as all my books still say that the 60898 is valid.

The only ---- posts are yours they are full of $$$$

Even if the regs had been updated you still use the BS number printed on the MCB

So you carry out verification by assumption mmmm!! so what other assumptions do you make when filling in the cert

You are obviously making observations of yourself with the comment you have made as someone with "real experience" would not have needed to start this thread so who is the real sado

The art of using your eyes

If you take the time to read the post you will see that what I was asking was if the number had been changed nothing more.

We take the time to read your post and reply and we are trolls yet you slag other posters off for your own failing of not being able to back up your test sheets because you didn't check the BS number printed on the MCB

I think only one poster actually bothered to answer the question.

Correct one person quoted the current BS numbers so because they are the current BS numbers you have ASSUMED that is what is fitted

I have no idea what the rest of you a banging on about.

Because you are using the same verification and observation system that you use on site when doing inspections to read these USEFUL posts

Apart from the fact that you are obviously are trolls and have nothing better to do with your time but to look for post hoping you might get an opportunity to put someone down.

As this thread is of little use to anyone who carries out proper I&T you are the original troll with the original post

I hope this and the useful other posts in this thread will help you improve your I&T skills and remember the BS number printed on the MCB is the one you use

So back to the OP, if it a brand new CU then the choices are probably 60898 or 61008 - but then what do I know - or more to the point what do you know?
