peugeot 306 , ive checked the fuses, but when i pull the fuses for say left side tail lights they dont go out.... i will get it eventualy and if you can help with anything, kooooooool

could even be a poor connection where the loom plugs onto the light PCB.

my next step is take out the fuse board and see where that black cable goes too... any info in taking one of these fuse boards out, will it be messy or nice and neat.... at moment if have the lights on car wont turn off, and if i brake the front lights come on, its great fun/not!!!

apart from the fact that it was made by frogs.

You have the tail light + and the brake light + interconnected or the bulbs mixed up. As the brake lights only work with the ignition switched on ,when you have the lights on and foot on the brake this puts a feed to the switched side of the ignition.bypassing the keyswitch keeping the circuit closed and going open circuit when your foot is removed from the pedal

aye its a dual filiment and bulbs are correctly selected, the main problem was tail light not working, and not even 13v at contact... so i can put back to that problem, and seek and search and try again... haynes manual anygood???

Hi,

Check the earth connection to the stop / tail bulb. Should go to body of bayonet connector. If no earth then one filament will try to earth through the other causing all sorts of odd effects. This is a known issue with auto electrics.

Do not try to remove fuse board. Unlikely to be the problem and will be a nightmare to put back, assuming you get out in one piece!
