Reroute the light cable to the first downlight, then loop from there. No need for a WAGO box unless it’s got a pesky looped live at it.

My thought as well. Usually when you have several new spots being fitted it's likely possible that not just the switch wire but also the neutrals can be rerouted to one of the new locations and the existing pendant hole can simply be plastered up. No need for a MF jb.
