On Friday I went over to see a friend of mine, she's had a lot of problems lately and is having to move house, anyway she's bought this new place in Southport and funnily enough it's a house I've often looked at as I've driven passed. So she rang me and asked me if I could check the electrics over for her as she wants to know it's all safe,So I said I'd pop over and do an EICR for her.the house was built about 15 years ago and apart from a bit of bodged wiring in the garage it looked fine,so I started testing and that was ok too.Now wanting to do a really good job I decided to poke about in the loft,it was all boarded out and had a couple of lights fitted.I looked around and noticed a piece of flexi duct not attached to anything but it went to a soffit vent, the bathroom fan was connected so it wasn't off that. Then I noticed a load of staples in the rafters, very odd I thought so I carried on poking about, folded up in a corner was a large piece of black polythene, and inside it was a load of silver plastic sheet, the plot thickens.Moving into the garage I poked about in the rubbish and found some plastic pipe and fittings, then a bag of some mossy stuff, like compost but it wasn't then the clincher,a large SON lamp.Suddenly it dawned on me obviously the previous owner had had a grow in the loft!It just shows that you don't only find them in small scruffy terraced houses, this was a large four bed semi in a very nice area, maybe that's how they afforded it. lol

Some fool had tried to board the ceiling and put downlighters in,but they had mice and they gnawed the cables so they pulled the ceiling down and left the wires hanging.I'm going to replace it with a single centre light and one socket.I,ve told her just to cover my expenses on this one, she's a good friend and after all the grief she's had it's nice to help her out.

I was only messing. surprised you said that much!
Nah she's a good person, but she gets taken advantage of,while I was there some guy was trying to charge her a stack for changing locks, anyway I showed him the door,I'll be changing any locks and it won't cost her an arm and a leg.I hate people who rip people off, they should all be fed to my dog!

The wee brother bought a house, bit of a fixer upper. The bath had leaked and ruined the celling in the dinning room so we started to pull it down and found 2 small bags of coke!!
